Aims & Scope
The European Journal of Neurodegenerative Diseases (EJND) is an international peer-reviewed journal published every four months. The journal provides a series of articles, reviews, and case reports focusing on morphological, ultrastructural, physiological, pathophysiological, molecular, biochemical, bioenergetics, pharmacological, therapeutic, translational, biomarkers, and regulatory aspects of neurodegenerative diseases.
EJND's Open Access Initiative
The advent of online publication has greatly improved access to scientific content on a global scale. This has led to calls from the academic community for research publications to be made freely available online and immediately upon publication, without the barrier of paid subscription to access.
In response to these calls and following consultation with journal contributors, the Editors of EJND launched an Open Access initiative in 2022. This means manuscripts submitted and accepted after peer review will be published in EJND with open access under the CC BY 4.0 license.
Copyright/Open Access
Published under the subscription model and open access options
In most instances, EJND makes its content freely viewable and searchable. EJND grants any third party the right to use most articles freely, as long as its integrity is maintained and its original author, citation details and journal are identified. However, some articles may require permission to be re-used, as determined on a case-by-case basis.
Published under an Open Access Creative Commons licence
Manuscripts submitted and accepted after peer review will be published in EJND with open access under the CC BY 4.0 license. EJND is not authorized to grant permission for material published under a CC BY license, as the authors retain the copyright. However, depending on the intended use, permission may not be required at all. For details, see Copyright & License.
EJND will insert the following note on the first page of the published text:
© Year The Author(s). Published by Biolife Publisher. This is an open access article under the CC BY 4.0 license.
