{"id":43,"date":"2017-05-10T12:23:24","date_gmt":"2017-05-10T10:23:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.biolifesas.org\/biolife\/?page_id=43"},"modified":"2026-07-24T12:55:59","modified_gmt":"2026-07-24T10:55:59","slug":"publication-fees","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.biolife-publisher.it\/ejnd\/publication-fees\/","title":{"rendered":"Publication fees"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<p><strong>Article Processing Charges (APC)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Manuscripts submitted and accepted after peer review will be published in the <em>European<\/em> <i>Journal of\u00a0 Neurodegenerative Diseases<\/i>\u00a0with open access under the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by\/4.0\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CC BY 4.0 license<\/a>. The copyright is retained by the author(s). In order to provide free access to readers, and to cover the costs of peer review, copyediting, typesetting, long-term archiving, and journal management, an Article Processing Charge (APC) of 750,00 EUR is applied to papers accepted after peer review.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Biolife Publisher User License<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Users may access, download, copy, translate, text and data mine (but may not redistribute, display or adapt) the articles for non-commercial purposes provided that users:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cite the article using an appropriate bibliographic citation (i.e. author(s), journal, article title, volume, issue, page numbers and \u00a0DOI.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain the integrity of the article<\/li>\n<li>Retain links to the terms and conditions so it is clear to other users what can and cannot be done with the article<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that, for any content in the article that is identified as belonging to a third party, any re-use complies with the copyright policies of that third party<\/li>\n<li>Any translations for which a prior translation agreement with Biolife Publisher has not been established must prominently display the statement: <em>&#8220;This is an unofficial translation of an article that appeared in a Biolife Publisher publication. Biolife Publisher has not endorsed this translation.&#8221;<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For permission to use documents, please email us at info@biolife-publisher.it.<\/p>\n<p>This is a non-commercial license where publishing articles for commercial purposes is prohibited. Commercial purposes include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Copying or downloading articles, or linking to such postings, for further redistribution, sale or licensing for a fee.<\/li>\n<li>Copying, downloading or posting by a site or service that incorporates advertising with such content.<\/li>\n<li>The inclusion or incorporation of article content in other works or services (other than normal quotations with an appropriate citation) that is then available for sale or licensing for a fee.<\/li>\n<li>Use of articles or article content (other than normal quotations with appropriate citation) by for-profit organizations for promotional purposes, whether for a fee or otherwise.<\/li>\n<li>Use for the purposes of monetary reward by means of sale, resale, license, loan, transfer or another form of commercial exploitation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who is responsible for making or arranging the payment?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As the corresponding author of the manuscript, you are responsible for making or arranging the payment (for instance, via your institution) upon editorial acceptance of the manuscript.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>At which stage is the amount I will need to pay fixed?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The APC payable for an article is agreed upon during the manuscript submission process. The agreed charge will not change, regardless of any change to the journal&#8217;s APC.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>When and how do I pay?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Upon editorial acceptance of an article, the corresponding author (you) will be notified that payment is due. We advise prompt payment as we are unable to publish accepted articles until payment has been received.<\/p>\n<p>Payment can be made by any of the following methods:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Credit card &#8211; payment can be made via credit card as soon as the manuscript has been editorially accepted. We will we send a receipt by email once payment has been processed.<\/li>\n<li>Bank Transfer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your APC\u00a0refund policy?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>APCs will not be refunded when articles are retracted as a result of author error or misconduct.<\/p>\n<p>No refund or credit will be offered in the following circumstances:<\/p>\n<p>Article retraction: Biolife Publisher has provided full publishing services and is only able to recoup this investment through the APC.\u00a0 The later retraction of the article does not detract from the publishing services provided or from our ongoing maintenance of the scientific record, e.g. archiving in perpetuity.<\/p>\n<p>Article removal: In rare cases where articles are removed completely after acceptance for publication, we will not refund or credit an APC.
